Carli Fine Art Conservation is available to oversee and execute art installations ranging from individual pieces to full institutional exhibitions. We advise on exhibition planning and loan negotiation.  We provide a conservator's presence on-site during installation and de-installation to monitor handling and display methods and comply with institutions' and collectors' loan requirements. We have extensive experience packing, shipping and couriering artwork on a national and international level.

While on display, it is important to do justice and provide optimale visibility to artwork in a preservation environment. CFAC advises on lighting, climate control, case design, construction and security. We contract with art preparators, packers, rigging specialists and shipping companies to provide the best possible service for installation, de-installation and transit.

Accidents do happen. Mounts provide stabilization and support to safeguard against incidental damage. Ideally, a mount is unobtrusive but as effective as possible providing structural support for the artwork and stability while on display.  CFAC advises, designs and fabricates mounting systems for three-dimensional works of art ensuring its optimum safety while on view. We are particularly aware and sensitive to the risks inherent to displaying art in a seismic zone.

How artwork is stored is as equally important as how it's displayed. Possibly more so, as when objects are in storage, they are often left on their own for extended periods of time. They can remain a dormant state during which  long-term deterioration or accidental damage can occur without being noticed.

Design and implementation of effective storage systems is paramount in the protection of collections and the investments they represent. With thorough examination of artwork and its storage areas, CFAC can develop the best housing system possible within the constraints of available resources.
